We stopped by Pieology in Vacaville CA for a quick meal and it was our first visit to the pizza brand. We went with the “Build Your Own” pizza and opted for a half Hawaiian and half cheese pizza, hoping to enjoy a mix of flavors.

The pizza was okay, but nothing to write home about. The thin crust had a nice crispiness, but it lacked the flavor and texture I usually look for in a great pizza. The cheese side was also a lot meltier than usual and didn’t hold up on the pizza very well.

I also got an Italian salad which was OK. It had corn, cherry tomatoes, olives, lettuce and a lot of cheese on top.

The service was fine, and the pizza was prepared quickly which was convenient. The restaurant has a fast-casual atmosphere that’s comfortable enough for a quick bite.

The experience was just okay and the pizza was fine. In terms of fast-casual pizza with similar pricing, I would prefer MOD pizza over Pieology as I feel MOD’s pizza crust and flavors are better.
