Recovered during RMS Titanic, Inc.’s fifth expedition in 1998, the 25-foot-wide, 13-foot-tall starboard section of the hull provides an extraordinary glimpse into the construction and history of RMS Titanic, captivating millions of visitors with its sheer size and remarkable preservation. The recovery of “The Big Piece” from RMS Titanic’s wreck-site 963 miles northeast of New York and 453 miles southeast of the Newfoundland coastline was a monumental effort that required advanced technology and expertise, reflecting the broader story of Titanic‘s legacy and the ongoing mission to preserve her history.
