Tracks Restaurant is set to return to its original location in Penn Station after a five-year hiatus, coinciding with the station’s extensive makeover, including light-filled halls and expanded amenities.
The beloved bar and restaurant, currently operating from a space on 31st Street, will reopen in the Penn Station Concourse, occupying a 3,150 sq ft space and bringing back its celebrated offerings to the heart of THE PENN DISTRICT.
The new location will provide direct access to the newly renovated PENN 1 and PENN 2, as well as the recently unveiled Plaza33, as part of Vornado’s ongoing revitalization of the neighborhood.

Known as the “Cheers” of Penn Station, where everyone knew your name, Tracks will welcome back many original staff members and popular menu items, including everything from wings to a NY strip steak and the award-winning oyster bar.
Tracks will also reintroduce its highly popular seasonal Lobster Fest and Soft Shell Crab menu, favored by patrons of the original Tracks. Construction is set to begin this fall, with an anticipated opening before the end of 2024, adding to the diverse food and beverage options now available in THE PENN DISTRICT.

The revamp will feature nods to the restaurant’s railroad heritage, with vintage prints and murals celebrating the history of the Long Island Rail Road. Owner Bruce Caulfield promises to recreate the prized train-themed space, showcasing his memorabilia collection and reviving much of the original look that made Tracks a unique destination. Simultaneously, it will be refreshed to complement the overall redevelopment happening in THE PENN DISTRICT, blending nostalgic charm with modern architecture.

Tracks eagerly anticipates reclaiming its place as a cherished gathering spot in the heart of Penn Station. Ed Hogan, Jenniel Davis from Vornado Realty Trust, and Robert Freedman from Colliers International represented the deal.
